Where things are
| What | Windows | Linux |
|---|---|---|
Logs (godot.log) | %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Support UAS\logs | ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Support UAS/logs |
Settings (settings.json) | %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Support UAS | ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Support UAS |

Attach godot.log to a fault report and, when the fault is about a flight, that flight's flight-<time>.meta.json and .json (chapter 12).
Start-up
- The first start is slow. The ground textures are compressed for the graphics card and cached (
texture_cachein the settings folder); later starts are fast. If the ground looks wrong after a texture update, delete thetexture_cachefolder and it is rebuilt. - No network share. Without Varasto (a volunteer's machine) the game uses the library (chapter 14) or the bundled Levi area. Point it at a data folder of your own with the environment variable
SUPPORT_UAS_DATA. - Does not start at all on Linux. The game needs Vulkan and a graphics driver (NVIDIA: the vendor driver, not nouveau).
- Settings in a mess. Delete
settings.json; the game creates a new one with the defaults (key bindings and calibration are reset too).
Performance
All of these are on the Settings page (chapter 18). Effects, ground textures and the tree detail range change on the next flight.
| Symptom | Try |
|---|---|
| low fps all the time | Effects and tree detail medium or low; 3D resolution 75 % + FSR 2; Anti-aliasing TAA |
| stutter over forest | a shorter Tree detail range (e.g. 1500 m) |
| graphics memory runs out | Ground textures medium or low |
| tearing | Vertical sync (vsync) on, or Frame rate cap at the display's rate |
For a light laptop: 3D resolution 75 % + FSR 2, TAA, effects and textures medium, trees 1500 m. At the low level the far forest looks slightly striped from 300 m; that is the price of the speed.
Controls
- The radio or pad does nothing. Switch the device with J and calibrate the sticks with K (chapter 2). The RadioMaster TX16S is connected as a USB joystick (USB Joystick); if the USB hub keeps dropping it, try a slower USB port.
- A key does nothing. Check on the Controls page that the key is not bound to another function; binding a key removes its old use and the page says so.
Multiplayer
- The observer cannot join. The host listens on UDP port 7777: allow it in the host's firewall; over the internet, forward the port on the router to the host machine (chapter 11).
- The observer drops right after joining. Building the world takes 10–20 s; the connection survives it (since after 0.9.1 the timeout is 60–120 s). If it keeps dropping, attach both machines' logs.
Weather and map
- The weather does not update. FMI observations come over the network; without one the game uses climate defaults ("ilmasto"). The weather can also be set by hand on the mission form (chapter 10).
- The base map is missing. The package carries the base map of all of Finland for levels 2–8 without a network; closer levels need the network and an NLS key (chapter 14).
Thermal camera
- The picture is flat grey. AGC is off and the temperature window is in the wrong place: press O (AGC on) or move the window with − / = (chapter 5).
- A reading shows < or >. The target is outside the temperature window or the gain range: widen the window or switch the gain (8) to low (0…500 °C).
